Memphis Canstruction JR

Our Competition

The West Tennessee Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is once again hosting a Memphis area Canstruction Jr competition for high school students.  Teams of students will compete to design the most impressive can sculptures possible, all while learning about civil engineering and the needs of people in our local community.  Each team is assigned a student and professional ASCE mentor.

The goal of the Memphis Canstruction Jr competition is to increase high school students understanding of civil engineering and the role of the civil engineer in society, as well as to raise awareness about hunger in the Mid-South.

All canned food from the competition will be donated to the Mid-South Food Bank.
